About Our Department

The Department of Hospitality Management is one of the academic departments of Mindanao State University–Maigo College of Education, Science and Technology (MSU-MCEST). It offers the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program and is committed to academic excellence, as reflected in the dedication of its faculty members, the holistic development of its students, and the continuous enhancement of its curriculum.

The Department has consistently adapted to the dynamic and evolving hospitality industry by equipping students with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and professional values necessary for success across various hospitality sectors. Students are trained to meet both academic and industry standards and have demonstrated strong performance in addressing real-world challenges, underscoring the significance of delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences within the campus community and beyond.

In recognition of its commitment to quality assurance and compliance with national standards, the program was awarded a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by CHED Region X on September 30, 2024. This milestone affirms the Department’s dedication to providing quality education and training while actively contributing to community development and industry relevance.

Goals and Objectives

Our primary goal is to develop high-quality educational programs on hospitality and tourism that are in tune with the contemporary demands of ASEAN and globalization. The department seeks to strike a balance between character, knowledge, skills, and technology acquisition to cultivate individuals who are not only globally competitive but also imbued with a strong sense of nationalism. These future service providers will, in turn, contribute to the socio-economic development of our community and the entire nation.

Research

Extension
