Atty. Jamaloden A. Basar is the current Superintendent and Chancellor of Mindanao State University – Maigo College of Education, Science and Technology (MSU-MCEST). With over 30 years of dedicated service in the MSU System, he is a visionary academic leader and seasoned legal professional known for his transformative leadership and commitment to inclusive education. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President for Administration and Finance of the MSU System, where he introduced innovative fiscal strategies, including the Annual Finance Summit to improve university-wide operational efficiency. A licensed lawyer and a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Atty. Basar has held key positions such as University Legal Counsel, Director of the Legal Services Division, and Assistant Dean of the MSU College of Law – General Santos Extension. Under his stewardship, MSU-MCEST has gained national recognition for producing topnotchers in the Licensure Examination for Teachers and for its transformation from a trade school into a comprehensive higher education institution. His accolades include numerous commendations from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), local government units, and national agencies recognizing his outstanding leadership, community service, and contributions to academic excellence. He authored research on Islamic financing and digital marketing and continues to champion innovation, integrity, and excellence in public service and higher education.
